As an adventurer obtaining high level skills is essential. But how does one go about to obtain it?
When I was a child about 10 years old. I learned about the dinosaur's and how a giant astroid from space 🌌🪨 smashed into the earth 🌎 🌍 creating a nuclear winter and global environmental change that killed the dinosaur's 🦖🦕. The big one's anyway.
I experienced an existential crisis. This could happen to humanity anytime aswell. Everyone could die just like the dinosaur's. My conclusion as a child was that science will save us. Science is what makes us different from the dinosaur's. Science is what moves us forward into eternity and space. This is where my love for science began.
A childish conclusion perhaps. One can argue that we will all die one day regardless of what we do. Nevertheless this love for science stuck with me for life and set me on my path.
I grew up during the age of the internet, surrounded by computer's, tv, video games and toys. My love grew for space, science, technology as I watched more movies, games, sci-fi and anime.
In school I had the best grades in science & technology subjects. In 8th grade I started learning programming. Inspired by the video game UPLINK I wanted to become a hacker. I hacked my school's computer systems using some guides I found on the internet and installed Wolfenstein 3D video game into all the schools computers. My whole class had a LAN party with me 🥳 even "Jörgen" our schools computer admin joined us lol 😂.
When highschool came I chose Cybergymnasiet. Assuming they would be high-tech due to the name.
When university time came I chose KTH the Swedish Royal Institute for Science and Technology. I got an bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering.
Today I work as a senior software developer and I love it 💖💕 I have worked for years now and have a very high skill in software development.
Conclusion in order obtain high level skills you must love it. The skill that you learn must lead to what you love. You must sacrifice time, friends, family, parties, social events for the sake of what you love. High level skills require daily devotion, commitment and love 💕💖.
I have strayed from my original love to save humanity from astroids. But today as an adult I have many things I love and being a software developer do align very well with most of them. Perhaps I can save humanity with this blog instead 😆
